House Shimakaze was founded during the end of the Hanzagiri uprising. Lord Goda Shimakaze was a samurai in charge of several fishing villages on the west coast of Homare-Jima. When called upon to go forth and find Lady Miko who was kidnapped by Daimyo Lahan Hanzagiri, he called upon his three sons, Boku, the eldest, Naibo and the youngest Ikrua. Lord Goda took his two oldest with him and a force of 150 swordsmen and 70 archers, leaving Ikrua in charge of maintaining the villages and keeps the small fishing fleet going. He had mix of 60 troops to server to maintain order and defend the people.
During the march to the northeast tip of the Island, Lord Goda’s force was ambushed by ninjas and roin of Daimyo Lahan forces. The battle was fought over three days with Lord Goda’s forces being pushed back over half the distance of the Island. On the fourth day a force of nearly 200 troops came from the south. Half of them, under the command of a mage using the dark arts, broke off and headed towards the villages along the western coast. Lord Goda seeing this sent a messenger falcon to Ikrua. The message read;
“We have been betrayed, Daimyo Takeamura has sent troops to support Daimyo Lahan, Takeamada’s archers protect our north, we will intercept southern force to buy you time, use fishing fleet to save the people!”
Only a hand full of troops survived the battle, as members of the Blue Lotus clan arrived just in time to sway the battle. But their timing did not prevent the death of Lord Goda and his two sons. Lord Takeamada with a hand full of archers manages to lay down a wall of arrows allowing the Blue Lotus clan to complete its mission and return Lady Miko home safely.
